Trying to decide if you should get that new beautiful puppy's velvet ears cropped or leave them floppy? This is a common concern with new mommas and poppas.
"Do you think we should crop our puppy's ears or leave them natural?"
Some think it is unnecessary and just a human vanity thing done for appearance purposes only, others feels its more of a health concern while complimenting the overall look.

My answer to this is, Its up to you! Do you want to keep the big floppy bunny ears? Do you want the alert look all the time?

Yes ears left natural have a better chance of becoming infected vs. ears that are cropped and open to air flow and the human eye. Natural ears require more attention to keep them clean and free from potential infectious dangers. Cropped ears are easier to notice when they become dirty and are less likely to maintain moisture then their previous natural ears. But it all boils down to what you would like your puppy to look like and the extent of your education with proper ear care.  If you keep natural ears you have to be ready to devote yourself to the the care that is involved with doing so. If you choose to crop the ears you need to be ready for the after care of the crop and be ready to pay a pretty penny when your pup is about 12-16 weeks of age.

I like cropped ears as I do natural ears. True I feel cropped ears enhance the appearance of the dog and their head, it gives them a more intimidating appeal. Natural ears on a beautiful dog look right regardless and this does soften the appearance of your Corso to the public greatly. True most of my Corsi I will own in my lifetime will have cropped ears but I can say that there will be at least one with those soft cuddly natural ears.
